'Negaraku' Video On Disabled Athletes Wins First Prize In Media Prima's Contest


KUALA LUMPUR: The “Negaraku” short video story depicting Paralympic athletes emerged as the winner in “Projek Video Malaysia” (Provim 2017) today.

Director Muhammad Faiz Yaakob, 33, took home a brand new Proton Saga car and RM5,000 for the victory.

He said the video showed how everyone including disabled athletes could contribute to the nation in their own special ways.

“Although I come from a small state of Kelantan, I have proved that no matter who you are, where you come from, you can always make your nation proud in your own ways,” he said after the prize presentation ceremony at Menara Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia here.

Provim was organised by Media Prima Bhd’s (MPB) News and Current Affairs Division Television Networks’ Digital News Unit.

The competition was aimed at fostering the spirit of independence, racial unity and patriotism among Malaysians.

MPB News and Current Affairs TV Networks group managing editor Datuk Seri Ashraf Abdullah expressed his appreciation to the Provim participants.

“On behalf of the organiser, I would like to thank everyone who participated in Provim.”

He said the organiser received 635 entries (3 minutes videos) for the competition.

The second-prize winner received two tickets of “Islamic cruise to Penang, Krabi and Phuket” and RM3,000, and third-place winner received a Demak motorcycle and RM2,000. - New Straits Times
